Not so long ago, I felt disconnected from my career. It wasn't that things weren't going well -- it was that I felt ungrounded & unsure about what I wanted to do in it.
Years ago, while in the final stage of becoming a Unified Mindfulness Teacher, I received an assignment to create a new mindfulness technique.
I created a technique that I called See Scheme. I designed it as a tool to help with writing short stories. I used it to imagine scenes and communicate with the characters in the story. And, even ask the story itself -- what do you want to be?
As part of teacher training, I piloted the exercise with other mindfulness teachers. They loved it and said they saw how they could use it to solve problems in their own life, not just when writing stories.
A few months later, I tested this technique with a group of advanced meditator clients as a problem-solving tool, and they raved about it. One of them used it to solve a business problem. Another used it to gain insight into how they wanted to show up at work.
Late last year, I tested the technique again with a group of artists to get in touch with their inner artists. Again, it was successful and led people to insights.
I started to use this technique to imagine the soul of my career so I could have a conversation with it.
On Tuesday, January 23rd, I'm leading a workshop on how to find and communicate with the soul of your business or career.
The workshop will cover the following:
Guided meditation to ground in your physical body and feel space
Guided visualization to meet the soul of your business/career
How to create a mental space to play with your business/career in the future
What to do with the information your business tells you
The guidance and reflection are 40 minutes, followed by 20 minutes of Q&A and practice reports.
The workshop will be live on zoom. I will record the workshop for anyone who registers.
It will feel like:
A sweet mood.
Magic.
Gentle and creative exercises.
Relief mixed with insight
Gentle sharing.
A reinvigorating hour to connect with the soul of the career you built
