The best prospect of thriving and loving your work is within you right now. It's right there in your body and mind.
How are you using your body and mind to experience career contentment?
I've spent the last twenty years helping people use stories and theatre to understand and express their awesomeness. In the last decade, I've infused those practices with additional mindfulness work to help you take your everyday thoughts and meanderings and use them to nurture career contentment.
Here is the first mindfulness practice.
Everyone can benefit from learning these exercises; here are some ways you can use them:
- Anchor away from negative experiences when they happen at work (previous triggers become practice opportunities)
- Notice and experience pleasant sensations for more extended periods
- Focus on what you want to focus on when you want to focus on it
- Match your inner values with external action that feels authentic
- Experience relief from work while building mindfulness skills
I made that recording over two years ago, and it is still a foundational technique that will serve you well. But since then, I have realized that people want to move beyond career contentment. They want inspiring and exciting careers. They want to feel extra alive at work. Career contentment is just the beginning of feeling amazing at work.
If that's you and you want to know how to turn mindfulness training into noticeable results in how you feel at work, join the Rehearsal Hall. There, you will learn techniques to make work feel better and help you connect with your team more authentically.
